Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Britney Compete for 2009 VMA's

Lady Gaga
and Beyonce lead the field for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, with both artists receiving 9 nominations apiece. Beyonce's Single Ladies Video is up for Video of the Year and Best Female Video, among others, while Gaga scores nominations with both her Pokerface and Paparazzi video.

But not far behind both of these ladies is MTV Queen Bee Britney Spears, who nabs 7 nominations, including video of the year and best pop video for Womanizer.

I dunno about you, but my money's on Spears to take home at least a couple of the awards she's up for. I don't think any video this year really defines "pop" as much as Womanizer.

Gaga is an obvious front runner for the Best New Artist Award, while Beyonce should take Best Choreography.

Head to MTV.com for more info on the nominees!
