President John F. Kennedy's sister, Eunice, died today at the age of 88. Shriver was the founder of the Special Olympics, starting the organization in 1968. After suffering a series of strokes over the last couple years, she died surrounded by her family and friends.
She was also the Mother-in-law to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was quoted saying that his mother-in-law "changed my life by raising such a fantastic daughter, and by putting me on the path to service, starting with drafting me as a coach for the Special Olympics."
Rest in Peace.
