Good Ol' Naughty Fun

Sometimes all you want to do is listen to a super sleazy down and dirty dance ditty, and Wynter Gordon (yes...she spells her name with a 'y') DELIVERS with her guilty pleasure club stomper "Dirty Talk".

The American born songstress reached the top of the Australian and the U.S. dance charts with this jam, which is inescapably catchy.

I DARE you to listen to "Dirty Talk" and not get up and shake it!!

Grammy Predicitions Part 2

It's time for another round of Grammy predictions!!

The show is still a little ways away, but there are just SO many categories to get through, we need to start chit chatting about them!

Today's category is Best Dance Recording, here are the nominees:

"Rocket" - Goldfrapp

Who I Want to Win: This is a super tough category, with tons of heavy hitters, but I'm gonna go with my gut and say ROBYN. She has a HUGE breakout year in 2010, releasing 3 critically acclaimed albums and snagging a whole new group of fans. "Dancing on My Own" is electro-pop perfection, and if anyone deserves to take home this award it's her.

Who Will Probably Win: Gaga or La Roux will probabbllyy take home this award. Ms. Gaga is bound to take home at least one of her 6 nominations, but this is one of her lesser known songs, and "In for the Kill" was a substantial hit for the British band.

But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for ROBYN!! Love her!!

Chris Brown's Road to Redeeming Himself?

I didn't think it was possible, but Chris Brown may have begun the process of redeeming himself last night at the BET Awards.

His dance tribute to Michael Jackson was SO phenomenal, and at the end when he broke down and started crying and couldn't sing, it seemed genuine. Wow.

People in the audience gave him a standing ovation, rightfully so. I have never seen such an on-point tribute to MJ, it was unbelievable. Brown's career has been in the crapper ever since he beat up ex-girlfriend Rihanna, and I assumed he'd be out for the count...forever.

But after last night, i don't know. It really proved that this kid has some serious talent. It will be interesting to see if the industry accepts him back in after everything he has done and been through.

Watch the performance HERE.

Thoughts??

Dance Track of the Day

It' been a while since More Than Musiq featured a killer dance track, so here's one for the books!

American Idol season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis is racing up the Billboard Dance charts with his latest single "Heartbreak on Vinyl".

Lewis has pretty much been MIA since he came in second place to Jordin Sparks, but this track is actually not that bad. His voice is solid, and although the beats a pretty typical one, it works!

Take a listen to Heartbreak on Vinyl.

Dance Track of the Day

If your out at the clubs this weekend, keep your ears open for the sound of Kaylah Marin's new dance hit "On the Floor." The song is currently at #3 on Billboard's Hot Dance Songs, only behind Lady Gaga & Beyonce's "Telephone", and Rihanna's "Hard."

That's pretty impressive for a relatively unknown singer!

It's got a pretty typical synth beat, but Marin's soulful voice makes this little ditty extremely enjoyable and really fun to dance to!!

Check out "On the Floor."

Vintage Brit

I stumbled upon this awesome video of Britney Spears rehearsing for her first music video way back in 1998. It's for ...Baby One More Time and she is ON POINT!

She looks great and her dance moves are sick!

Check out this video!

Gaga Continues to Deliver the Hits

I keep waiting for Lady Gaga to release a song that just sucks, but seriously this woman can't miss.

Her latest song "Telephone" features Beyonce and it is a SICK dance track.

I actually would prefer is B wasn't even in the song; her part is way weaker than Gaga's and she can't match the huge pipes that the new pop queen has.

Take a listen to Telephone!

Dance Track of the Day

Veteran electronic band Depeche Mode have struck gold again, with their latest single "Perfect."

It's a great combination of electro-beats and classic D.P. vocals from lead singer Dave Gahan.

The single recently topped Billboard's Hot Dance Play chart, and after nearly 30 years as a group the band seems stronger than ever.

Check out Perfect and see for yourself!

Dance Track of the Day

Lily Allen is one of my favorite British imports. The singer/songwriter may not have super strong pipes, but her songs and lyrics are clever and fun, not to mention a little sassy.

Allen's single "F*ck You" moves in to the #1 position on Billboard's Dance/Club Play songs, and although it is probably a remixed version for the clubs, the original is great!

Some people (Perez Hilton) think Allen is a train wreck in the making with no talent, but she is legit talented!

Dance Track of the Day

Check out this new club banger from cutie Carmen Reece. The song is called "Right Here" and it's currently heating up dance clubs around the country!

London born Reece says she is inspired vocally by the greats: Whitney, Mariah and Celine.

OK...let's not get ahead of ourselves. You're good, Carmen, but not that good.

Look out Beyonce, because your little sister is about to steal your thunda!!

Just kidding, that's not really possible since you are WAY more talented that she is, but Solange has released a new single off of her album Sol Angel And The Hadley St. Dreams, and the track is actually pretty good!

The song's called "Would've Been the One", and although her voice can never match B's, the old school seventies funk that Solange brings is good enough to get people moving!

Dance Track of the Day

There's a great new dance track that's been getting some heavy airplay on dance radio, it's the Noisettes "Don't Upset the Rhythm," and it has this great retro feel to it!

The band is from London and have already scored chart success on their side of the pond, and now with "Don't Upset the Rhythm" moving up to #4 on the Dance/Club Play Charts, they are now reaching the USA!

Madonna Makes it an Even 40 #1's on the Dance Chart

This week we celebrate the Queen of Pop's massive success, as she scores her 40th #1 single on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs. Her latest tune "Celebration" follows 39 previous songs by the Material Girl, including classics like "Open Your Heart", "Like a Prayer", and "Into the Groove."

This is impressive, but it would have been even more impressive if "Celebration" were an actual hit single.

The song stalled on the Hot 100, not even breaking in to the top 70. This chart tracks the most popular songs in any genre, and although the Dance/Club Genre is legit, it is a very small chart compared to the Hot 100.

But since Madonna does have 12 #1 songs on the Hot 100, I guess we can overlook that little tidbit.

Congrats Madge!

Dance Track of the Day

Man, every time you think you've heard the last of Cascada, they come out with another dance jam to blast on the radio!

Their latest hit is "Evacuate the Dance Floor" a #1 hit already in Europe and now it is starting to climb up the charts here in the states!

What makes Cascada able to come back again and again is the fact that lead singer Natalie Horler has the pipes to carry a club-stomping song like this.

Cascada has done an acoustic version of the song as well, so you can really hear Natalie's voice!

Check it out both versions below!

Dance Track of the Day

The #1 song on the Hot Dance Track Chart this week is Kristine W's "Be Alright." This is the American's 14th #1 single on the chart!

Her most recent hit is a club jam fo sho! It is really fun and extremely techno-tronic!

Dance Track of the Day

This was the most epic song at my high school prom. Darude's SANDSTORM.

I think this may possibly be the BEST dance/techno song ever. Seriously, it just makes you want to freak out and dance all over the place excessively.

The song was a hit overseas, and became a club mainstay as well here int he states.

Dancing With Sabrina the Teenage Witch!

Dancing With the Stars has just announced the new lineup for their upcoming season, with Sabrina the Teenage Witch herself joining the fun. Melissa Joan Hart was named just one of the celebs competing in the dance show, with fellow C-listers Kelly Osbourne (Ozzy's daughter), Aaron Carter (Nick's younger brother), and Mya competing as well, just to name a few

I am definitely putting my money on Mya to win this season. She is a trained dancer to begin with, who was always known as a talented mover even when she was singing and performing on stage. If you want proof, youtube her performance from MTV's Tribut to Janet Jackson. It's Killer.

Dance Track of the Day

I have two for you today (since I didn't do one yesterday!!) both coming from the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna.

As I mentioned earlier this week, Madge saw yet another single enter the Billboard Hot 100. It's off of her upcoming greatest hits disc, and it's called "Celebration." I love it, it's classic Madonna, and I think everyone should listen to it!

Also, as a tribute to the Queen, I am also putting a link up for you to go check out one of her 80's classic hits, "Into the Groove," so you can reminisce!

Check both songs out below!

The "Into the Groove" link is live!

Dance Track of the Day: British Invasion

The band is called La Roux, and their song "Bulletproof" is beginning to catch on at dance radio, and I love it! They're like a combination of Robyn and the Ting Tings, very catchy, very eclectic!

The band is up for the Mercury Prize for their self-titled album, and I hope it wins! The Mercury Prize is awarded to the artist or band with the best album in the UK and Ireland.

Check them out below!

Dance Track of the Day

Check out this new song from the Paradiso Girls, Featuring Lil Jon and Eve. It's called "Patron Tequilla."

Definitely a summer time dance jam. It's good to hear Eve back in the music scene, (she has been busy doing other stuff like fashion and acting,) and I think this song could potentially crossover!

These girls look like a rip off of the Pussycat Dolls, but whatever, they sound good!
