Britney Returns to Top Form

During her performance in Greensboro NC, Britney Spears switched things up a little bit and performed a version of "You Oughta Know" for the packed house. AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!

She sang it liveeeeeeee. Like, really live! And she looked like she was really in to it and was having a great time! She looked great and sounded great!

Check out the performance below!

Madonna = Still Relevant

Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour finishes its run today in Tel Aviv, becoming the second highest grossing tour in HISTORY.

The outing, which began in August of 2008, grossed a reported $408 million, second only to the $558 million the Rolling Stones took in during their Bigger Bang tour in 2005-2007.

Considering that Madonna's last studio album Hard Candy, only sold a minuscule 714,000 copies in the U.S. she should probably stick to touring to bring in the big bucks.

Britney Concert Still Ridiculously AWESOME

I was able to go to the Britney Spears Circus Tour again this past weekend in NYC, and I have to tell you that it was even BETTER the second time around!

For her second North American leg of her tour, Britney and her team have worked out some of the kinks from the first time around. The biggest and best new change is the fact that there was an actual jumbo-tron that filmed Brit so everyone, even in the nosebleed seats can see her perform.

There were multiple wardrobe changes since the last time, and she looked even more happy and energetic! Her dancing was much more clean and precise!

I strongly urge everyone to go see her!!

5 Days Til Britney!!

On Monday I will be attending the Circus Starring Britney Spears tour for the second time this year, and I could not be more excited!!!

This is the second North American leg of her tour, and she has added some new stuff, including a performance of "Mannequin" in to the show!

I'll be going with a handful of friends who are all Brit fans so it should be a great night!!

In other Britney news, the pop icon was on David Letterman the other night, reading the Top 10 List. It was "The Top 10 Thing That Would Be Different If Britney Spears Were President."

It was funny, but I don't understand why she was in a bikini while doing it...it was kind of tacky...

Britney, you're a big enough star, you don't have to take your clothes off for an interview!

Jordin Sparks to Join Britney's Circus

It was just announced this weekend that American idol Alum Jordin Sparks will be joing Britney Spears on every date of her North American Leg of her tour! She has signed on with already previously announced opener Kristinia DeBarge.

Woop! Jordin Sparks is a great singer and I cannot wait to see her perform live!

Although now it brings up the questions of What the F happened to Ciara? The R&B singer was supposed to be opening for Spears, but now there is no mention of her in any of the press releases from the Spears camp.

Interesting...maybe it was because her new album bombed and her single with Justin Timberlake only barely managed to crack the top top?

On the other hand, Sparks' single "Battlefield" is a hit on the radio, and her album entered in the top 10. Her pervious album was a slow but steady seller, and I think this one will probably be the same.

Your Daily Britney Fix

Yahoo has put a video from Britney's Circus Tour up, and it is probably the BEST one I have seen ever! (Well, besides actually seeing it in real life!) It makes you feel like you are really there, and the quality is spectacular!

I have tickets with some friends to see her again at Madison Square Garden in NYC, and I am wicked excited! I can't wait!

Check out the video below!

U2 Tour Continues to be Massive

U2 takes the #1 spot on the Hot Tours List, that follows the top grossing tours around the world. The band grossed $41.4 million over 13 dates in Europe, good enough to beat the likes of fellow tour giants Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.

Although the band's latest album "No Line on the Horizon" debut at #1 all over the world, it was a commercial failure in the states, not even selling a million copies.

Even if they don't sell what they used to, U2 is one of the best live bands of all time. I have been fortunate enough to see them perform twice, and both times were unbelievable! I strongly recommend you to check them out at least once!!

Brit in Berlin

Britney Spears just recently wrapped up the European leg of her concert "The Circus Starring Britney Spears," and is now on a break until she kicks off the next North American leg in late August. Britneyspears.com just put up exclusive pics from the Berlin show, and they're great!

Brit's tour is the highest grossing tour of the year in North America, and could be the biggest tour of the year in the entire world. It has already grossed over $75 million.

Head on over to the site to check them out!

The Record Roundup

The Record Roundup is a weekly list of songs, albums, and anything pop culture that you should be aware of for the week.

This week, our list is topped by Shakira and her crazyridiculouslyweirdbutawesome new song "She Wolf." Here is the complete list of the other tasty little treats of this week.

THE LIST

1. Shakira's "She Wolf" - Probably one of the weirdest pop songs I've heard in a while, with creepy howling in the background, and a digitized Shak oozing her Columbian hotness all over the track.

2. Re-Vamped Billboard.com - The website that I, (along with millions of other chart followers) have grown up with, has completely redesigned and reformatted their layout. Equipped with an all new game that let's people choose which top 5 artists will make the biggest splash on the charts each week, the site is much more interactive and visually appealing.

3. Turtle Boy Music Awards - This is for all the locals looking to vote for their favorite Worcester musicians! Voting has already begun but go to Worcester Magazine online and click on the link to cast your vote!

4. Kings of Leon Announcing Fall Tour -Yessssssssssss

5. Jason Mraz close to breaking Billboard record - The laid back singer's monster single "I'm Yours" is still hanging around the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, even after 66 weeks on the charts. If the song can stick around for 4 more, he'll surpass LeAnn Rime's "How Do I Live" as the longest running song in Billboard history. You go Glenn Cocoa!

Concerts in 2009

Unfortunately I have only been able to go to a couple concerts this year so far. (Busy busy busy!)

BUT, the two that I have attended were RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME.

In March I saw Britney Spears in Boston, a 3 hour extravaganza that had the Pussycat Dolls opening for the pop queen, and Spears performing a crap load of her hits.

I was also able to catch the No Doubt reunion tour, with openers Paramore. Both were amazing. The two female leads, Gwen Stefani and Hayley Williams were flawless when it came to vocals. And the funkdafied ska band that backed Gwen and her boys were on point!

Enjoy this video from the Britney concert (please ignore the screaming cameraman...)
