Steve Carell & Tina Fey grace the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly, to promote their upcoming comedy "Date Night."
Fey and Carell are two of the funniest people on primetime, but I have to say that this film looks like it could either be pretty good, or horrendously shitty!
Tina Fey's movies usually always deliver, but Carell has been known to hit and miss over the past.

It's probably going to be really good. The addition of James Franco and Mila Kunis in supporting roles is a good sign. That's four extremely funny actors.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I could see how it would be shitty. In other contemporary comedies with an ensemble cast someone has to play the straight man. This is usually filled by a woman; see Kristen Bell in Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. Tina Fey isn't one to fall into the straight man role as she can crack jokes at the same rate as the best comedic male actors in the business. So it will be interesting to see how the comedy is presented on screen.
