Britney Debuts New Video

Britney Spears has just released the video to her #1 single "3", after teasing fans all week by releasing 5 second clips over the last couple days.

And the verdict?

It's pretty good. Brit looks ridiculously good and the black and white motif makes is very visually stimulating! She's moving around a lot, but I'd like to see more choreographed dancing, to be completely honest.

But it's hard to complain, since the single has already become a huge success and doesn't really need an accompanying video to go along with it. I guess it's just icing on the cake!!

Check out the video for Britney's "3".

Artist To Watch: Owl City

The new #1 song in the country is not Britney, or Jay Sean, or even Miley Cyrus; it's an unknown singer who goes by the name Owl City.

Born Adam Young, Owl City's new single "Fireflies' rockets 7-1 on the Hot 100 this week to claim the number one spot.

His sound is reminiscent of the Postal Service, very light with electro beats and quirky little blips every so often, and the song is damn catchy.

It's a good year for new artists like Owl City, who have scored huge hits the year. last week's #1 was the debut single from Jay Sean, who's "Down" has become an international hit. And let's not forget about Drake, who has scored multiple hits

A Little Inspiration For The Upcoming Weekend

If you're stuck on ideas for a Halloween costume this year, take a look at what some celebs did, and maybe you'll be inspired!

I have to say, Heidi Klum sure knows how to get dressed up for this holiday! It makes sense, since she throws a huge Halloween bash in Hollywood every year!

Check out some other celebrity Halloween costumes below!

"Glee"-Fully Happy

Members from the cast of Fox's new hit show Glee grace the most recent cover of Entertainment Weekly. After the show has continued to grow in viewers each week it was only a matter of time before it became a pop culture phenomenon!

Since the success of the show, there have been talks that a Glee Soundtrack will be released in the near future, as well as a concert tour with the lead members of the cast.

That would be AWESOME.

The show is ridiculously entertaining; full of cheesy musical numbers and drama. And to be completely honest, it's nothing like a real high school! But who cares! It's pure shameless fun!

I recommend that anyone who hasn't seen at least one episode go check it out!

Happy Birthday Pretty Woman!

America's Sweetheart, or I guess I should say America's 'former' Sweetheart, Julia Roberts, turns 42-years old today!

Happy Birthday!

Ever since she first graced our presence with her breakout role in 1988's Mystic Pizza, Roberts has been entertaining the masses with her million-dollar smile and impressive acting chops.

In the last 5 years, though, she's been kind of keeping it low key, and the movies she's released during this time have been nothing special (did anybody see Duplicity? Ya, me neither.)

I think it's time for a Julia Roberts comeback! We all want to see another Oscar-worthy performance like Erin Brockovitch (in which she actually did win the Oscar), it's long over due!

So Julia, get back out there! Leave Phinnaeus and Hazel with the baby sitter and get crackin'!

People Love Everything That Has To Do With Vampires

The soundtrack to upcoming film New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight saga, has moved into the #1 position on the Billboard 200 album chart this week, selling 153,000 copies.

Featuring artists such as Death Cab for Cutie, and Thom Yorke, and The Killers the CD saw a sales increase of 33% from week before.

Since the film opens November 20th, I'm fairly certain the soundtrack will remain in the upper-thresholds of the charts. The soundtrack to the first film sold an impressive 2 million copies this year, good enough to become one of the biggest soundtracks in recent memory.

The film should be even BIGGER...

I can't imagine what it's going to be like on opening night at movie complexes around the world...

The Week of M.J.

This week is saturated in Michael Jackson news, with the release of his "This Is It" album, and movie of the same name.

Industry experts are saying that the new album could sell anywhere between 300,000-350,000 copies this week, good enough to earn Jackson his 6th #1 album. And with advance ticket sales for his movie, it looks like he could pull a double #1, with predictions that film will top the box office this weekend.

Pretty impressive, even for the King of Pop. M.J. already has the top selling album of the year; after his death his album "Number Ones" sold a massive 2 million copies, ahead of the years other top selling artist, Taylor Swift.

Although this is impressive, it is kind of sad that a dead pop star is selling more than any new artist this year...

Jay Sean Unseats Britney

After becoming the first non-American Idol contestant in 11 years to have a song debut at #1, Britney Spears loses the top spot to Jay Sean, whose "Down" reclaims pole position.

Spears' "3" continues to be the #1 most downloaded song in the country, but drops to #5 this week because of low airplay. Expect the song to linger in the top 10, however, as "3" is quickly becoming the most added song at radio this year.

Jason DeRulo takes the runner-up position with his debut single "Watcha Say", while Miley Cyrus drops one spot to #3 with "Party in the U.S.A."

The Black Eyed Peas score a third top 10 single off of their latest album The E.N.D., as "Meet Me Halfway" climbs to #9

Here's a run down of the entire top 10.

1. Jay Sean "Down"

2. Jason DeRulo "Watcha Say"

3. Miley Cyrus "Party in the U.S.A."

4. Jay-Z with Rihanna and Kanye West "Run This Town"

5. Britney Spears "3"

6. Lady Gaga "Paparazzi"

7. Owl City "Fireflies"

8. Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling"

9. Black Eyed Peas "Meet Me Halfway"

10. Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me"

New More Than Musiq Poll!

There's a new poll at More Than Musiq!

This time, we're asking what show from the past you'd like to see back on the air! We have a number of classic sitcoms that you can choose from.

Friends, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace all had long runs during their time on air, while Freaks and Geeks only lasted one season, but developed a huge cult following in the process. (Freaks also had a cast filled with future stars such as James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jason Segal.

Which one would you pick??

The Year of Gaga

You picked her! This year's winner for Artist of the Year is Lady Gaga!!!

The new queen of the charts garnered 25% of the votes, where you could have chosen between Gaga, Kings of Leon, Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, or the Black Eyed Peas.

Coming in a close second with 18% of the vote was Jay-Z, who came out of retirement this year and delivered a HUGE album (The Blueprint 3) which topped the albums chart and spawned two hit singles "Run This Town" and "Empire State of Mind."

Lady Gaga, however, has had one of the biggest debut years of any artist in recent memory, scoring a platinum album that has already spawned four top 10 singles, including the #1's "Just Dance" and "Poker Face"

Gaga took home the MTV Moonman for Best New Artist, is up for the same award at the American Music Awards, and is the clear front runner for the Best New Artist at the Grammys.

So congrats to Lady Gaga, hopefully she'll be able to stick around and keep entertaining the world with her music and eccentric personality!!

New Rihanna

Rihanna debuted her new single "Russian Roulette" on her website today, becoming her first new release since the major drama/beat down with former boyfriend Chris Brown.

The song is dark and very much "Rihanna"- slightly edgy, brooding, and RiRi sounds pretty good on the track.

Unfortunately it is no "Umbrella", which was the monster #1 smash off of her previous album, which won her a Grammy and a slew of new fans.

Perhaps it will grow on me, but for the time being the song is just OK.

Listen for yourself

Wild at #1

Where the Wild Things Are took the top spot at this weekend's box office, raking in an estimated $32.5 million from Friday to Sunday.

An interesting tid bit to note is that 43% of the audience that saw the movie was over 18, meaning that all the people who use to love the book went to relive a bit of their childhood!

Coming in at #2 was Law Abiding Citizen, with Jamie Foxx, grossing $21.3 million. I head the movie was terrible, I can't believe it made that much...

at #3 is the most talked about horror movie in many years, Paranormal Activity! The $11,000 movie grossed a HUGE $20.2 million this weekend, and looks to make even more with Halloween right around the corner!

Lookin' Good Susan!

Britain's Got Talent superstar Susan Boyle is looking quite cleaned up on the cover of her new album, fittingly titled "I Dreamed a Dream" (after wowing millions with her rendition of the song of the same name.)

Her new album is not out yet, but I think it's safe to say that a lot of people will be buying it!

Since finishing second on the talent show (she did not win...pitty) Boyle has been an international star, traveling and performing all over the world.

I hope she sells millions!

So make sure you vote! Right now it's a tight race between Gaga and Jay for the crown!

BRITNEY DEBUTS AT THE TOP

HUGE NEWS

Britney Spears' new single "3" debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, becoming the first song in 3 years, and if you don't count American Idol Winners debuting at the top, it's the first time in over 11 years!

The song sold 255,000 downloads last week, enough to open at #1 on both the Hot 100 and Top digital songs. The tune also debuts at #49 on the Airplay Charts and surges 38-25 on the Pop Songs Chart.

Congratulations Britney!!

This is the pop diva's 3rd number one single, behind last year's "Womanizer" and her debut single "...Baby One More Time", which held the top spot for two weeks in 1999.

Swift Leads AMA Nominations

The nominations for the 2009 American Music Awards were announced today, and country/pop superstar Taylor Swift earned a leading 6 nominations, including Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Artist, just to name a few.

With five nominations, the late King of Pop Michael Jackson is not far behind, receiving nominations for Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock.

Other artists with multiple nominations this year include Eminem (4), Kings of Leon (3), and Lady Gaga (3).

Britney Spears, on other hand, was shut out completely. The past AMA winner was no where to be found when the nominations were announced.

This baffles me somewhat. How does Eminem get FOUR nominations this year, after releasing a sub par album with no hit singles, while Britney, who's multi-platinum #1 album Cirucs spawned 4 top 40 hits?

It makes no sense.

Jay Sean Squishes Black Eyed Peas

FINALLY

The Black Eyed Peas were unseated from their 26-week stay atop the Billboard Hot 100 by R&B singer Jay Sean, who's single "Down" becomes the new #1 song in the country.

More chart news tomorrow!

Babs Shows the Young Ones How It's Done

Most people thought that Paramore or Mariah Carey would take the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week, but in a huge upset Barbra Streisand's new album "Love is the Answer" trumps them both to take the top spot, collecting her 9th #1 album.

The set sold 180,000 copies good enough to push her ahead of Paramore who's sophomore album "Brand New Eyes" comes in at #2 with 175,000. Carey's album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" BOMBS with only 168,000 copies sold. Her last album "E=MC2" sold a whopping 463,000 copies and although her latest single "Obsessed is a top 10 hit, it looks like fans weren't feeling the entire album.

This week the album chart see a record breaking 8 new entries in the top 10. Besides Streisand, Paramore and Carey, we see top 10 debuts from Breaking Benjamin, Alice in Chains, Madonna, Miranda Lambert and Selena Gomez.

Here's a rundown of the top 10 albums this week:

1. Barbra Streisand "Love is the Answer" (180,000)

2. Paramore "Brand New Eyes" (175,000)

3. Mariah Carey "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" (168,000)

4. Breaking Benjamin "Dear Agony" (134,000)

5. Alice in Chains "Black Gives Way to Blue" (126,000)

6. Jay-Z "The Blueprint 3" (89,000)

7. Madonna "Celebration" (72,000)

8. Miranda Lambert "Revolution" (66,000)

9. Selena Gomez "Kiss and Tell" (66,000)

10. Pearl Jam "Backspacer" (58,000)

Update: "3" Sitting Comfy at #1, Justin Bieber New Teen Dream

In less than 16 hours of release Britney Spears' new single "3" has skyrocketed to the #1 position on Itunes Top 100, and continues to increase in radio airplay.

Wow! I guess people are really in three-ways! Critics and fans are saying that this is Britney's most explicitly over the top sexual song she has released during her decade long career, and apparently everyone is enjoying it!

Sitting in the runner-up position on Itunes is newcomer Justin Bieber, I think he's like 7 years-old or something...just kidding, but he's super young and all the teeny boppers are head over heels about him.

Justin's new single "One Less Lonely Girl" is gearing up to be a substantial hit on the charts. Could this mean the resurgence of teen pop!!!?

No Misery Business for Paramore at #1

Tennessee rockers Paramore score their first number one album on the UK Charts this week, as their sophomore set Brand New Eyes debuted at the top.

Their first album Riot! was certified gold in the UK for sales of over 100,000, while the band topped a million here in the USA and earned a platinum record.

This week Paramore will be battling Mariah Carey for the #1 spot on the Billboard 200, as both albums are expected to sell more than 150,000 each.

I'm kind of hoping Paramore will be the underdog upset, and beat Carey. Mariah's last album sold over 400,000 copies in its first week, so this album pales in comparison in terms of sales. Plus, Mariah has already had 6 #1 albums, let someone else have some fun for a change!

Zombieland: Hilarious Gore

I was able to check out Zombieland this past weekend, after my friends and I couldn't get in to Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs because it was sold out (damn those 6 year-old's).

I'm glad to say though that I was sooo glad we went to see this zombie flick instead, because it rocked!

Starring the likes of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and the Abigail Breslin, the film delivered some big laughs, while still kicking zombie ass at the same time.

Harrelson has been low key for a while but he brings some crazy fun to the party as "Tallahassee," the zombie-killing cowboy who has one goal and one goal only: To find a Twinkie in the mess that is a post-apacolyptic world filled with the living dead.

Abigail Breslin is all growed up as "Little Rock" the little sister of Wichita (Stone), who both add a flair of sass along with some female ass-kicking awesomeness.

The only So-So performance wsa from Eisenberg, who in my opinion is kind of like a lame Michael Cera. But he still added some neurotic humor to the film, which didn't sugar coat the fact that there was essentially no way to win this battle against a world filled with zombies.

Fittingly, the film topped the box office this weekend, making $24.7 million, well ahead of new releases such as Drew Barrymore's Whip It and the Invention of Lying.

So if you are looking to watch a great zombie flick to get in to the Halloween mood, definitely check out Zombieland. You won't be disapointed!

Gaga/Kanye Tour CANCELED

This sucks!

Lady Gaga and Kanye West have canceled their tour together! Reports say that the outing was cut because of "creative differences."

LAME.

Some good news, Lady Gaga announced that instead she will be embarking on a solo tour!

That's great, since she was really the only one I really wanted to see anyway!

Black Eyed Peas Can't Be Stopped

The Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" ties the record for the longest stay at #1 this decade, maintaining pole position for the 14th week. It ties Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" which also held the #1 spot for 14 weeks in 2005.

Dayammnnnnnnn!

That's a pretty big feat. The Peas also become only the second act in HISTORY to claim the #1 spot for over half a calendar year, making it a total of 26 consecutive weeks at the top, only having been beat my Usher who held the top spot in 2004 for 28 weeks.

Congratulations to the Peas!!

Other than that though, the Hot 100 sees no real movement within the top 10. Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" is the charts greatest gainer in airplay, and stays put at #7.

Here's a rundown of the top 10 singles in the country:

1. Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" (14 weeks at #1)

2. Jay Sean "Down"

3. Miley Cyrus "Party in the USA"

4. Jay-Z with Rihanna and Kanye West "Run This Town"

5. Jason DeRulo "Watcha Say"

6. Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me"

7. Lady Gaga "Paparazzi"

8. Kings of Leon "Use Somebody"

9. Mariah Carey "Obsessed"

10. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind"

You're Gonna S**T Yourself

So there is this new independent movie out called Paranormal Activity. It was made on a puny $15,000 budget, along the same lines as the Blair Witch Project.

I highly suggest that you watch the preview online. The movie looks TERRIFYING.

The film is in extremely limited release, which sucks because not many people can see it at the moment! But Paramount Pictures is planning on releasing it to more cinemas soon, so hopefully we'll all be able to catch a glimpse of it before Halloween!

Take a look at the trailer!
